‘Invisible’ Oil 2015

‘Window” pencil 2016

I was working with highly patterned paintings around 2019-2023, taking the ideas gained from the pencil from around that time further. I was working in paper mache and clays at the time also. These paintings are on board and painted in acrylic with pencil.

‘Flux’ Oil 2022

I love painting and drawing and keep coming back to it, exploring ideas through colour, pattern and suggestion.

I tend to jump back and forth between 2D and 3D works, often working on both simultaneously.

This gallery shows some examples of ideas I have chased over the years. I tend to work through an idea in a medium then with a wee bit of an overlap, make a sudden jump into a new idea. It’s a little chaotic, but pretty much the last 10 years in summary.

‘Looking out’ Oil 2014

I was focusing on pencil around 2014-16. My pencil works, like my sculptures begin as a broad idea and include the freedom of exploring where the work takes me. These works are more like elaborate doodles, exploring mythological themes, nature and stories.

‘Dreaming’ Acrylic/pencil on board 2022

Faces started to pop up in my work as I developed an interest in the subject and an interest in a more defined subject. I am still coming back to these ideas at the same time as my sculptural work.
